Why do we tell ourselves that it isn't possible? Why do we create doubt in our own minds? Why is something as simple as watching our food intake and burning some calories so hard to do? For me, I think it is the fact that the results are not instant, not even close.
Personally, I know that I can do it. Through dedication on the treadmill and eating right, I was able to lose 40lbs! Then, after reaching my goal of running a 5k, I stopped. I had reached my goal and was done. I hadn't reach my weight loss goal, but for some reason, my motivation wasn't there.
I believe it is because that goal weight wasn't realistic in my mind, or it wasn't at the time. I have been overweight so long that it just didn't seem possible to even squeeze back into those size 6 jeans I have saved since high school. Yet, when you think about the amount of weight, and break it up into samller goals, everything seems more attainable.
With these small goals, I have come to realize that it is completely possible and the only thing holding me back is myself. I will eat out of boredom, emtion, and will even reward myself with food. This has got to stop. Food is my fuel. I feel amazing when I work out and eat right. So why do I reward myself with something that makes me feel so bad?
The same questions hold true with exercise. I will want to skip it because I am just so tired after a long day at work or with the kids. Or, I don't want to get up early and do it because I rather sleep in. Yet, when I do get in my workout, I feel great. I am so much more productive on those days and I am able to relax because I have less waiting to be done.
Sure, some days it is nice to curl up by the fireplace in your pajamas with a nice hot cup of coffee, but I expecially love those days where I have done my workout, showered and dressed and ready for the day before the girls even wake up. So why is it still so hard to do?
I believe it is all in the habit. I am trying to create a new habit. A habit that will make time for myself. I spend so much time making sure the girls are taken care of and happy, yet then I give myself nothing.
Recently, I have changed my hair from blond, which I have been for the last 12 years, to red. Not just strawberry blond, but RED. A co-worker likes to call me Ariel. I believe that something as simple as this change created a huge amount of confidence in me. People loved it. I feel like I went from being just another person in the crowd, to someone who stood out. Patients who had never seen me as a blond would comment on how beautiful my hair was. I took a leap of faith and it turned into a huge confidence builder, made me feel attractive.
I know that if I just stick on this road of fitness, I will get the same thing. On top of that, I will be a better Mother and Wife. I will be happier, I will have more energy, and I will love myself. I will show my children to be confident and to keep active. This is something that I deserve and I know is possible.
Now, I want to talk about possible. Two people who mean alot to me have shown me the strength of working together. Together, they were able to quit smoking. One had smoked for almost 40 years, the other for over 20. Smoking is something that people like to say is impossible to quit. Well, these two did the impossible, they quit and they did it together. Now, they are both on a weight loss journey and have been doing amazing. They are truly an inspiration to everyone around them. They are proof that it is possible. They have taken on two of the biggest challenges people face for their health and won.
This shows me how much more successful people are when they do things together, as a team. This is why I love Beachbody. They help people do it together. I am lucky to be a Independent Coach for Beachbody, working out is now my "job." Helping people change their lives is now my job. I still deal with the daily struggle, but I know it's possible, and I know I have support. And I know, someday, I will wear those jeans again!

I will be using DVD workouts from Beachbody because I am a Mom of two young kids and don't have time to go to the gym. I will also be using Shakeology, because lets face it, vitamins and nutrients is something we all majorly lack and something that can make us feel so good!

Making the time for yourself!
I wanted to write about something I feel very strongly about. Moms have a habit of putting everyone first. Your schedule is around school and nap times, you meals are planned around what your husband or children might like or what you have time for after taking care of the kids. I think it is very important to take some time for yourself.
I try and give myself 1 hour everyday that is my time. It's true that during this time I exercise. I know this isn't everyone's idea of a good time, but it makes me feel good about myself like nothing else can. When I spend time relaxing on the couch, I just feel more tired and lazy. When I workout, I have more confidence and energy afterwords.
The difference on the days I do workout and the ones I don't are big. I feel the need to snack more when I don't workout. I get more done on the days I workout too. I'm just plain happier and have much more patience for my children.
At this point in my life, I have two kids home all day who take seperate naps, so, when one is napping, the other gets cartoon time. It is generally the only time I let her watch cartoons so she loves it and sometimes she will even come exercise with me. It's more like running in circle around me while laughing.
Today, I am busy. I am preparing my house for guests this weekend, I had to go to the store, and I am putting on a parade tomorrow that had alot of work needing done! Yet, I still manage to cook dinner and get a workout in, and I feel great. I know that if I just keep making it a priority not only will I get healthier, but I will be more productive and easier to be around.
If this sound like you, try and set a goal for yourself to keep you going. My current goal is to lose a certain amount by Vegas, which is now 6.5 weeks aways! What's your goal? How are you going to make tiem for yourself?

On track for Success!
I have been doing so well sticking to my TurboFire program. Suprisingly, TurboFire isn't boring yet. It is really fun! In the past I have done programs like 30 Day Shred by Jilliam Michael and it just go too repetative and boring. I haven't had this problem with TurboFire.
Everyday is totally different and always fun. Alot of the moves are repeated in every video, just in different sequences so it if easy to catch on if you haven't done the video before. I am getting to my 30 day mark where I need to take my 30 day pictures.
I am finally starting to feels muscles in my arms and abs that I can't even remember feeling. Maybe way back in high school softball. The Shakeology has been a great help because it seems to give me energy! It also keep me full so I don't feel like breaking into Emma's fruit snacks.
Speaking of Emma, she loves to help me exercise! Basically, she is running in circles around me while I attempt to not accidentally kick her but she has fun. One night she snuck out of bed and sat at the top of the stairs to watch me exercise!
I am so happy with myself that I have stuck with something and I am creating a good example for my children. Being healthy and happy is so easy! It seems to be something people want but never achieve. But if you think about it, all it takes is eating right and getting active. Something as little as 30 min a day can change your life.
I am do glad that I decided to finally step up and change things once and for all! I am not going to waste anymore of my life being anything less than I want to be!!! And I will succeed, there is no other option!

Partners & Support
Today I am going to talk about support. I have found that I have a really hard time losing weight when I don't have someone doing it with me. It is so much better when you have someone to help you be accountable and keep you on track.
Mike tries to help keep me on track when it comes to eating, but I need someone to to be my success partner when it comes to excercising. I have been doing good sticking to my TurboFire program but it would be so much better if I had someone also doing a workout program that I could check in with, so we could help eachother.
I'm glad that I have finally reach the point in my life were I am done just being my size, and I am putting the effort in to be healthy, I just wish I didn't have to do it alone. Mentally, I have reached the point where I realize that it is possible to be where I want to be. In the past, I have always wanted to lose the weight but I never really thought I could get there.
Now, I have realized that I am not going to get there overnight, but I will get there, even if I only lose a pound a month. I won't stop until I get where I want to be! So, everyday I am going to get up, do my TurboFire, drink my Shakeology and make good choices throughout the day! Are you ready to finally be who you want to be? The beginning....
I wanted to start this blog by telling you why I am doing this. I will begin with the name. Shed The Suit is because, I've always said that I feel like I am wearing a fat suit. I feel like a healthy person trapped inside the excess weight. So, I have decided once and for all to Shed the Suit!!
As most people have probably seen from my Facebook, I am now an Independent Team Beachbody Coach. Does this mean that I am going to be bugging you to buy a bunch of stuff, absolutely not. If you are interested in programs like P90X, TurboFire, TurboJam, and Power90 then, by all means, I am to help with that. But if you could care less about working out and getting healthy, then I will leave you alone. I am here for anyone who wants to get healthier and happier through exercise and nutrition.
This all started for me after having Grace. I wanted to lose the baby weight so I started running, something I was horrible at. I had never ran a mile without stopping in my entire life!!! My goal was to run a 5k without stopping. Guess what, I did it! It was the first time I had set a physical goal for myself and actually stuck with it. I was so proud of myself. I then slowly stopped running until it went to only once a week, then to once a month. I needed something new to keep me going, I need change.
Along, came my friend Samantha. Samantha had done P90x and she knew that I had tried it. She saw an infomercial for a program called TurboFire and thought it would be fun. After watching the infomercial, I wanted it, wanted it bad! So bad in fact that I begged Mike to let me get it as my anniversary gift. Luckily, he agreed.
I love TurboFire, it keeps things new. The videos range anywhere from 15min - 55min. It doesn't matter how short they are, I am always covered in sweat when I am done. Chalene Johnson, the trainer for P90X manages to keep you motivate with good music through the whole workout. I am having such a good time with TurboFire that I decided to step things up with Shakeology.
Now, I know the name makes it sound weird. But basically, Shakeology is a protein shake. It can be used as a meal replacement or along with what you normally eat to make sure that you are getting all of you nutrients. I highley suggest you look up Shakeology, the ingredient list is impressive. I have only tried it once so far but that was enough to make me want it!
So, here is where we get to why I became a "Coach" for Beachbody. I want the discount! When you sign up to be a coach with Beachbody, you get 25% off all their products, including Shakeology. After the initial fee, you end up saving money on your Shakeology every month. Then, I realized, I know so many people who have talked about wanting to be healthier or wanting to try P90X, why not be here as someone who can help motivate them. I am so tired of living a life a dieting and I am done with it. Eating healthy and excise is the way.
